More dreams about rock 'n' roll.

Two nights ago it was Johnny Cash, last night it was The Reverend Horton Heat. Seems like a good enough reason to post this:

I saw the Reverend in London once playing a white and gold Gretsch while wearing a white suit with gold trim, white and gold wing tip shoes, and a white hat with gold band. You have to love a man who co-ordinates his outfit with his guitar. Oh, and he played a song for me just to shut me up. Sorry 'bout that Rev.

Rainey

So we decided that our 100th fan on Facebook would get some kind of prize. Unfortunately we had no idea what the prize would be so we figured we'd play it by ear and see who the 'lucky' winner was. Well, as it turned out our 100th fan was Graham Rainey one time guitarist for Los Cabras and The Snake Charmers. Still had no idea what the prize would be but then it hit me! A Song!! Thats what we do anyway right? So it was decided that we would name a song after Graham. Lo and behold one practice later and we have a song called Rainey. I think i'm gonna call in that favour Rocky from Malibu Shark Attack! owes me and get him to do the lyrics for it. Double prize whammy!!

Anyway, that's what happened in practice tonight.

Oh, and that's Graham.

There's never a reason needed to post something like this!!

Awesome!

Zombie Cash!

So last night I had a dream that someone had written a book about all Johnny Cash's snow or death based songs. Well, I wasn't sure if it was a dream or memory when I woke up but it turns out it was a dream. Anyway, I did a search for it just to be on the safe side and I happened upon this. Lovely stuff.

I was also reminded last night of a band called Gito Gito Hustler so i'm away to re-check them out.

Better than a Magic Jug

You have to hand it to the Dubai government. Those cats know how to spend $218 million.

Yup. A $218 million fountain.

Wisconsin Death Trip

This is one of the most stunning pieces of film I've ever seen. I really can't recommend it enough. Its based on images from Michael Lehy's 1973 book of the same name which was in turn based on a series of photographs and news stories from Jackson County, Wisconsin in the late 19th century. I'm too tired to go into any more detail of it but you will not be disappointed if you watch it.

Check it out!

P.S. That clip isn't the whole movie.

SCANDAL!!

Which headline making Ulster Conservative and Unionist politician sits in his house in tears (probably), downing bottle after bottle of Desperados beer while watching the PM debates on TV?

Here's a clue: his name ISN'T an anagram of Welsh Rarebit.

He'll sit there judging us for wanting a better future for our children but he won't invest in decent beer. What a shlemiel!!

The King

For no reason other than to post something unrelated to We Want Blood, here's a picture of Elvis and his kin.

Updates!

I suppose now that we're making ourselves active i'll need to update this every now and again.

Well so far we've got about half a set sorted but more importantly we've got a couple of sweet logos done courtesy of Matt Gilligan.

Both of these will hopefully be appearing on some merch fairly soon. I say "fairly soon", but I mean as soon as we get some money together (feel free to make an investment and we'll pay you back when we can).

Anyway, thanks to Matt for the designs and thanks to you for paying attention.

We'll get some songs online ASAP so you can hear what the fuss is all about, but until then just remember... actually I can't think of a witty badass line to put here but just assume that i did write a witty, badass line and you'll feel a whole lot better about yourself.

Later friend.
