It's been almost two months since I posted anything here and I should be shamed of myself. Hallowe'en has come and gone and I haven't acknowledged it at all. For shame.
THIS KEYBOARD IS DOING MY HEAD IN!

So we're playing a show this Saturday opening for Dirty Stevie at their album launch. We're playing a new song. Hopefully we'll record something fairly soon. Thats all our news.
I promise the next post won't be so long coming and it'll be more interesting than this one.
Oh, and here's my favourite Hallowe'en costume I saw this year (albeit saw online)

What's Going On Elsewhere?
Here's what's happening with some of our friends.
As mentioned in the previous post Documenta have finished recording their album and its set to be released on October 15th with a show in the Pavilion.
Last week Not Squares signed off on the final mixes of their debut album 'Yeah OK'. Its set for release in October (I think) and from what i've heard of it it's fixing to be album of the year. A lot more dancy than their initial incarnation this album is set to send them through the roof. And now that Ricki is (almost) done with his schooling they're gonna be playing everywhere. The only one they're letting on about though is with Adebisi Shank in the Button Factory in Dublin on 20th November. More Adebisi news later.
Girls Names have all but finished their debut album and will hopefully have it out by the end of the year. They haven't said when they're releasing it, I just hope it's out by the end of the year.
Neil from Girls Names has ANOTHER side project on the go (at last count I think that makes 23 various incarnations he has). This ones called Sea Pinks and he played his debut show last week in an intimate and delightful venue. To use the modern parlance he pwned (are the kids still using that?). Needless to say he's hit the mark again and may well be set to overtake Girls Names as 'The next Big Thing'. Apologies to Cathal if he reads this ;) You can download the fantastic Japanese Knotweed HERE!
South of the border news sees Hands Up Who Wants To Die finishing their new album in Berlin. If you can't wait for that you can swing by to band camp and buy their split ep with I'll Eat Your Face. Such wonderful names!
Logik Party released High Risk Narcissist last week. You can buy it here. We'll hopefully be dragging them back north for a show one of these days. I love those guys.
Adebisi Shank have released their second album and it can be bought here.
Can't think of any more news about other bands but i'm sure that'll do you for now.
If you want to get out and about in Belfast this weekend (and why the hell wouldn't you), Jogging are playing Animal Disco in Auntie Annies on Friday. I haven't made it to Animal Disco yet but I hear its a hell of a party.
Saturday sees Girls Names and the wonderful Third Man Theme play the Mermaid Bar in Belfast with Deformative and the debut of Hit Butties, the newest, hottest DJ duo in town.

What's Going On?
We've been kinda quiet lately as Mr Wonderful has been busy ushering his daughter Ava into the world. By that I mean he's been putting bars on the windows and warning all the neighbourhood boys to stay away or he'll shoot them in the face. That doesn't mean we haven't been doing anything though.
In whatever free time Mr Wonderful has he and Devil Anse have been practicing with their side project Documenta for MTV Music Week. That's over now though so they'll be back in the warm embrace of We Want Blood until the next time Uncle Joe comes calling. Incidentally, the Documenta album is now finished and by all accounts it's superb.
Devil Anse is still the hardest working man in local showbiz and is in the process of finishing Girls Names' debut album. I and the rest of the world are waiting with baited breath for it.
'Iron' Ben has been working hard with his latest band The Holy Innocents. I haven't heard them yet but he says they're class and I can't see why he'd lie to me. Iron Ben isn't feeling well at the minute though so we wish him a speedy recovery from whatever it is that's wrong with him.
And me, well I've started a new band with Mr Barry Peak, Graham Rainey (who won a competition to have a We Want Blood song named after him) and Ricki O'Rawe. Just the one practice so far but it's sounding good. Barry and I have provisionally called ourselves F***ing Roadtrip but we'll have to see if that name sticks.
Other than that we've been working on a couple of new songs and will hopefully get a Hallowe'en show finalised this week. We're also hoping to get into the studio sooner rather than later.
